Special Meeting Minutes
Eagle Public Library, 100 Stierman Way
August 4, 2019 1:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER: 1:02pm
ROLL CALL: ROGERS: present, HYER: present, MORTENSEN: present, THAEMERT: present,
SOELBERG: present.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
• The board members had a general discussion on the directors yearly evaluation. The
members will provide comments on the general form by August 20, 2019.
• The board decided to create specialist positions to provide support for ongoing needs
of the library. The four specialist positions include:
o Growth and Development: Mortensen
o Finance: Thaemert
o Personnel: Hyer
o Foundation: Rogers and Soelberg
• The board also talked about new board member orientation and ways to strengthen
the process. The board agreed that job descriptions for the officers would be helpful.
• The board also talked about meeting format and board evaluation. The consensus was
the meetings would remain the same to give the new specialist positions time to
formalize. The board also agreed to meet in the winter for a further board
development session to determine progress.
ADJOURNMENT: Mortensen moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:39. Soelberg seconded. All
approved, motion passed.
