CONSERVATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
April 9, 2026
1. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Baun calls the meeting to order.
2. ROLL CALL: BAUN, BESSAW, AND PELLANT.
Present: Baun, Bessaw, and Pellant. A quorum is present.
Council liaison Kvamme is present.
3. REPORTS:

B. Staff:
1. Update Regarding the Pathways, Trails, Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan.
Planner Rick Butler provides an update regarding the Master Plan and the process is underway.
2. Update on City's RPP Application and Letter with BLM.
Planner Butler states that there is no update on the RPP application and that it is on the Mayor's
desk. Staff is waiting for direction.
3. Update on Conservation Education Program.
Review of the current funds within the CEP. Staff provides a map that indicates developments
within the CEP. Baun recommends that a ledger be added.
4. NEW BUSINESS:
A. ACTIONITEM: Minutes of January 22, 2026.
Pellanat moves to approve the minutes of January 22, 2026. Seconded by Bessaw. ALL
AYE ... MOTION CARRIES.
B. ACTIONITEM.• Discussion Retarding Ada County Conservation Coalition.
There is a Conservation Coalition meeting on April 28, 2026, amongst the different entities within Ada
County. The goal is to identify goals and objectives amongst everyone and work together on Conservation
efforts.
C. ACTIONITEM.• Discussion Regardine Coordination with Ada Soil and Water Conservation
District for Education Prourams and Farm/Land Open Space Preservation.
Pellant states that he is going to ask the Board to see if the city could utilize their education coordinator to
provide education outreach.
Discussion amongst the Committee on Charlie Wood Park and bringing this project back to consideration.
The Committee recommends that Ada County Weed, Pest and Mosquito Abatement provide a report on
Yellow Star Thistle to Council.
Kvamme suggests that the Committee meet in June when new members are selected.
4. ADJOURNMENT:
No further business, the meeting adjourned.
