National Bike Month - May 2025
City of Eagle, Idaho
WHEREAS, since 1956, May has been nationally recognized as National Bike Month,
celebrating the joy of bicycling and promoting education, safety, and participation among
individuals of all ages and abilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle, Idaho, recognizes the importance of bicycling as a healthy
and enjoyable mode of transportation and recreation; and
WHEREAS, bicycling offers numerous benefits, including improved physical and mental
well-being, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced community connectivity; and
WHEREAS, Eagle boasts exceptional opportunities for bicyclists, with scenic on -road
routes, dedicated bike paths, and breathtaking trails that highlight the beauty of Idaho's
landscape; and
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle is committed to fostering a safe and inviting community,
enhancing livability by encouraging a respectful and cooperative atmosphere on our roads,
paths, and trails through complimentary education, well -planned infrastructure, and targeted
enforcement; and
WHEREAS, local businesses, schools, and community organizations in Eagle actively
promote bicycling through events, advocacy, and educational efforts, encouraging individuals to
ride safely, legally, and confidently wherever they choose; and
NOW, THEREFORE,1, Brad Pike, Mayor of the City of Eagle, Idaho do hereby proclaim:

In the City of Eagle, and I commend this observance to our citizens and request that prayers be
poured out for our City; for our neighbors as we live, serve, work, and learn together that we may
be filled with peace and abound in hope.
