A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO, SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS
OF GOVERNOR CECIL D. ANDRUS AND SENATOR JIM MCCLURE BY WORKING IN
A BIPARTISAN MANNER TO RESOLVE AND PASS INTO LAW THEIR COMPROMISE
IDAHO WILDERNESS BILL.
WHEREAS, a divisive debate over wilderness designation has
polarized Idaho for more than twenty years, and;
WHEREAS, a debate will continue pending a resolution of the
issue, and;
WHEREAS, there are certain special places deserving of
wilderness protection, and;
WHEREAS, Governor Cecil D. Andrus and Senator Jim McClure
have carefully balanced the competing needs surrounding public
lands and arrived at a balanced, compromise approach to the
wilderness issue.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that we support he efforts of the
Governor and the Senator, working in a bipartisan manner to
resolve this issue and pass into law their compromise Idaho
Wilderness Bill.
