RESOLUTION
10-90
A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT AND ENDORSE THE PARTICIPATION OF THE
CITY OF EAGLE IN THE GEM COMMUNITIES PROGRAM OF IDAHO DEPARTMENT
OF COMMERCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Eagle City Council, City of Eagle, is
interested in the economic health of the community and its
citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Eagle City Council wishes to support the
efforts within and by this community to become more prepared
to support and foster the appropriate economic activities of
its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Idaho Department of Commerce is offering a
program specifically designed to help communities help
themselves prepare for and sustain an effective economic
development program; and
WHEREAS, this program is entitled GEM COMMUNITIES Program.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Eagle City Council of the
City of Eagle hereby supports and endorses the participation of
the City of Eagle in the GEM COMMUNITIES Program of Idaho
Department of Commerce; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the elected leadership of this
community realizes this program requires dedicated effort; and
that this resolution is a pledge of our honest intention to
complete the requirements for GEM COMMUNITY certification; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the CITY OF EAGLE is the
organization authorized to perform the tasks necessary for
certification as a GEM COMMUNITY, and the implementation of any
related grant programs and sustaining the on-going local
community and economic development effort, and that said
organization will follow the guidelines established by the Idaho
Department of Commerce in performing the tasks necessary for
certification as a GEM COMMUNITY, and that said organization
shall report to the Eagle City Council not less than quarterly
regarding its progress.
This Resolution is in full effect upon its adoption this
day of December, 1990.
