ORIGINAL
RESOLUTION NO. 5-95
A RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY OF EAGLE'S RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE
BENCH VALLEY TRANSPORTATION STUDY ROADWAY CORRIDORS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, IDAHO:
Section 1: We concur with the recommendations of both Garden City and Boise City that the
Curtis Road Extension should be built as the highest priority project
Section 2: We further concur with Boise City that Maple Grove and 5 Mile Extensions should be
next priorities with 5 Mile being Eagle's first priority of the two. On all other matters referred to
by the ACHD Bench Valley Recommendations Schedule, we concur with staff recommendations,
including the preservation of 5 lanes on the 5 Mile river crossing and the 5 Mile North of Chinden
to river crossing.
With respect to selection of Version A and Version B of the 5 Mile/Chinden to river decision, we
suggest both versions be preserved, as we think time and future study will define this choice more
clearly for the best interest of the entire community.
Section 3: We emphasize that the City of Eagle does not endorse the concept of the creation of a
an expressway on the Eagle Road corridor.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The City of Eagle wants to emphasize that a 5 Mile
river crossing is extremely important to our community in that it will alleviate river crossing traffic
on Eagle Road in the heart of our community and strongly favor this river crossing being included
in the long term (2006 to 2015) construction period. Further, that the City of Eagle does not
endorse an expressway made of Eagle Road.
DATED this..l2... day of December, 1995.
