RESOLUTION #98-6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY,
IDAHO, AUTHORIZING MAYOR RICK YZAGUIRRE TO SIGN THE MEMORANUM OF
AGREEMENT (MOA) AMONG TREASURE V ALLEY GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES ON
THE APPLICATION OF INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Ada Planning Association, in cooperation with local governments, has
initiated a Treasure Valley preliminary Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS) planning process
to detennine if ITS technologies have application in the area to help solve transportation
problems; and
WHEREAS, Phase I of the planning process is designed to improve ITS awareness and
begin the process of evaluating the ITS advanced technologies; and
WHEREAS, the result of the Phase I planning process is the Treasure Valley Intelligent
Transportation Systems (ITS) Plan that identifies potential ITS system applications and
recommended areas for detailed evaluation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Eagle has actively participated in the development of ITS and
concurred with the preliminary concept of the memorandum of Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the ITS Committee has strongly recommended that local governments
approve the Memorandum of Agreement.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City of Eagle hereby authorize and directs
Mayor Rick Yzaguirre to sign the Memorandum of Agreement on the application of Intelligent
Transportation Systems attached as Exhibit A.
This Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and
approval.
