Resolution - 1999 - 03 - Establishing Water Construction Equivalency Fees In Relation To Irrigation Availability. - 03/23/1999 RESOLUTION NO. 99-3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EAGLE, ADA COUNTY, IDAHO, ESTABLISHING WATER CONSTRUCTION EQUIVALENCY FEES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS Eagle City Code, Section 6-5-24C allows the Eagle City Council to establish water construction equivalency fees by a Resolution which" shall consider the use to which the property will be put, expected water demand, and the amount of delivery capacity of the line that will be used by the proposed use"; and WHEREAS, the Eagle City Code, Section 6-5-24D states that the City Council shall also take into consideration the amount of land that might be able to be serviced by the water lines; whether the land should be benefited as directly adjacent to the line; and the cost of engineering and constructing the line; and WHEREAS, the Eagle City Council finds that it is necessary to establish such water construction equivalency fees in order to adequately provide water service to the citizens of the City of Eagle and to provide an equitable distribution of the costs of such system; and WHEREAS, the approximate cost of constructing a well that provides 800 gallons of water per minute, is approximately $200,000.00; and the approximate peak hour demand in the existing system is approximately .5 gallons per minute if the customers have pressurized irrigation and do not irrigate from the City system; and the approximate peak hour consumption by customers who do not have pressurized irrigation and do irrigate from the City system is approximately 1.5 gallons per minute; and such levels of demand bear directly on the costs of water service; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Eagle, Idaho: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Eagle hereby establishes the water construction equivalency fees to be as follows: Customers with pressurized irrigation: $250.00 per customer Customers without pressurized irrigation: $500.00 per customer Section 2: Such fees shall be collected from all customers hooking up to the City system from the date of this resolution forward.
