Budget Workshop Minutes
August 5, 2003
1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Merrill calls the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: BASTIAN, SEDLACEK, GUERBER, NORDSTROM. All present.
A quorum is present.
Bastian moves to add as Item #4. MPO Discussion. Seconded by Sedlacek. ALL
A YE: MOTION CARRIES.................
3. BUDGET DISCUSSION ITEMS:
A. Library to present proposed budget for FY 2003-2004 and discuss level of service.
Ron Baker, Library Director, distributes budget information to the Council on the Library
budget for FY03/04, displays overheads and discusses the budget. General discussion.
Guerber leaves to attend another meeting but will return. 5:55 p.m.
Undersecretary Rainey addresses the Council on the Sheriff's Office Budget. General
discussion.
B. Topics of Discussion.
Council Member Guerber returns to the meeting.
Council general discussion:
Revenue and review of the projected Property Tax Revenue
Necessary Expenditures, Other Expenditures and Fund Expenditures
Personnel
Strategic Annual Goals
Library Budget
Revision to Personnel Manual which will be continued to the August 11, 2003 City Council
Meeting.
4. MPO DISCUSSION.
Mayor introduces the issue. General discussion.
Bastian moves to add to the agenda discussion on the bollards at Orval Krasen
Park. Seconded by Nordstrom. ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES.........
Bastian moves to approve the installation of the bronze bollards at Orval Krasen
Park in the amount of $7,540.00. Seconded by Guerber. Bastian: AYE; Sedlacek:
AYE; Guerber: AYE; Nordstrom: AYE: ALL AYE: MOTION CARRIES................
