Special Meeting Minutes
January 31, 2019
1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Ridgeway calls the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: BASTIAN, GOLD, PITTMAN, MITCHELL. Bastian is absent.
A quorum is present.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Ridgeway leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
No Pledge
4. EXECUTIVE SESSION:
74-206. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS (1) An executive session at which members of the
public are excluded may be held, but only for the purposes and only in the manner set
forth in this section. The motion to go into executive session shall identify the specific
subsections of this section that authorize the executive session. There shall be a roll call
vote on the motion and the vote shall be recorded in the minutes. An executive session
shall be authorized by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the governing body. An executive session
may be held:
A. "ACTION ITEM" (a) To consider hiring a public officer, employee, staff member or
individual agent, wherein the respective qualities of individuals are to be evaluated in
order to fill a particular vacancy or need. This paragraph does not apply to filling a
vacancy in an elective office or deliberations about staffing needs in general.
Pittman moves pursuant to I.C. 74-206(1) that the City of Eagle go into Executive
Session regarding hiring a public officer/staff member for the City. Gold: AYE;
Pittman: AYE; Mitchell: AYE: ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES
Council goes into Executive Session at 12:05 p.m.
Council leaves Executive Session at 1:20 p.m.
Gold moves to direct the Mayor to contact possible legal counsel on an interim basis
for the City's general legal support and also legal work for a possible attorney for
the PUC intervention. Seconded by Pittman. Gold: AYE; Pittman: AYE; Mitchell:
AYE: ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES
5. ADJOURNMENT:
Gold moves to adjourn. Seconded by Mitchell. Mayor: are there any objections to
adjournment? Seeing none we are adjourned.
Hearing no further business, the Council meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m.
