EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MINUTES
September 15, 2014
Conference Room
Board Member Pete Dover called the Eagle Public Library Board of Trustees meeting to order at 7:08 pm. Present
were Board Members Christine Lodge and Terri Soelberg. Also present were Library Director Steve Bumgarner,
Assistant Library Director Janice Campbell. Maureen Germano and Margo Walter were absent.
Approval of Agenda for September 15, 2014, Board of Trustees Meeting
Pete Dover requested the following amendments to the Agenda
Board of Trustees Officer Nominations for FY 2014-2015
Board of Trustees vacancy
Christine Lodge made the motion to approve the agenda with amendments; seconded by Teri Soelberg, the
agenda was unanimously approved.
Approval of Minutes of August 11, 2014, Board of Trustees Meeting
Terri Soelberg requested that the minutes be corrected to read:
Next Meeting Date
The next regularly scheduled meeting is Monday, September 8, 2014, at 7:00 pm in the Eagle Public
Terri Soelberg made the motion to approve the minutes for the August 11, 2014 meeting as corrected; seconded
by Christine Lodge, the minutes were unanimously approved.
Payment of Library Bills
Christine Lodge made the motion to approve the bills for payment; seconded by Terri Soelberg, the bills were
unanimously approved for payment.
Due to the absence of a Friends representative, no report was given. Library Director Bumgarner reported that the
Friends will hold their Fall book sale on October 10 and 11.
Circulation statistics for the month of August were slightly lower overall than one year ago, though when average
daily circulations are compared, daily circulation was higher than last August.

For the eleven months of the fiscal year,
11.4% increase in circulation over the same period last year
2% in patron traffic
Library Director Bumgarner asked the Board if there were questions about the publicity materials or about the
Goals and Objectives. Library Director Bumgarner reported that the Goals and Objectives are nearly all completed
for the year.
September is National Library Card-Sign-up Month; Albertsons will give a cookie to anyone who shows their Eagle
Public Library card.

Library Director Bumgarner reported about attending the Association of Rural and Small Libraries in Tacoma,
September 4-6, 2014.

New Business
Board Officer Nominations
Nominations were accepted for Board Officers for Fiscal Year 2014-2015. Pete Dover was nominated to serve as
President, Christine Lodge as Vice President, Terri Soelberg as Secretary. Elections will be held at the October 2014
meeting.
The motion to accept the nominations for President and Vice President was made by Terri Soelberg and seconded
by Christine Lodge. The motion to accept the nomination for Secretary was made by Christine Lodge and
seconded by Pete Dover. Both motions were agreed to unanimously.
Board Vacancy
The term of Board President Maureen Germano expires on September 30, 2014. The vacancy will be posted and
applications will be accepted through October 8.

Next Meeting Date
The next regularly scheduled meeting is Monday, October 13, 2014, at 7:00 pm in the Eagle
Community Room.

There being no further business, Board Member Pete Dover adjourned the meeting at 8:15 pm.
