Monthly meeting
November 15, 1999
Minutes
Call to order at 6:58pm
Present: President Luftus, VP Horn, Secretary Fischer, Library
Director Gallinger.
Minutes for the October meeting were adopted, moved by Horn,
seconded by Fischer - Unanimous acceptance.
Friends report: $22,000 raised by sale
Librarian's report:
a. Over $1,000 in fines
b. Flag presentation will be 11/24 with the Mayor and possibly
Senator Larry Craig.
c. Simplex Fire Safety system maintenance - $800.00
Monthly bills: Paid
Old Business: Policy Manual Review will begin with the December
meeting, at which time Secretary Fischer will present a review of
articles I - IV.

The Board was called to order at 7p.m.with the following members present:
Trustee Susan Thomas,Vice President Liz Horn,Trustee Kelli Fischer,Trustee Don Gray,and
Library Director Ann Gallinger. President Terry Loftus was absent. Friends representative Jeanie
Farnworth was also present.
Adoption of September Minutes.
The Friends will have their Fall Book Sale this weekend and needed one or two more volunteers.
The volunteer sheet was passed around and trustees volunteered as appropriate. The friends will be
purchasing Globes for the Library and children's pillows for the story time area.
The Librarian's Report: This month's librarian's report included discussions on gate as of tonight since
opening day: 69,845(!),Braille signage, and a new part time opening.
Moved by Fischer and seconded by Horn that the last of the September,and October Library bills be paid.
Unanimous acceptance.
The Library Internet policy is up to date and the Board has chosen to become proactive about its continued
uncensored patron access. Director Gallinger will maintain a current"best practices"folder and will keep
the board apprised. The Library Policy Manual was given to each member and at the November meeting
of the Board,a plan for continuous improvement and up date will be established.
The Library will be closed on Veterans Day, 11/11/99 and Thursday and Friday 11/25 and 11/26,but will
be open Saturday 11/27.
The Eagle Library Board of Trustee contact information sheet will be updated and distributed at the
November meeting.
The next regular meeting of the Eagle Library Board will be November 8, 1999.
The October meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
