Monthly meeting
September 13,1999
Minutes
The Board was called to order at 7p.m.with the following members present:
President Susan Thomas,Vice President Pat Krasen,Trustee Kelli Fischer,incoming Trustee Liz
Horn,and Library Director Ann Gallinger. Treasurer Terry Loftus was absent. No guests or Friends were
present.
Adoption of August Minutes.
The Friends will have their Fall Book Sale the last weekend in October.
The Librarian's Report: This month's librarian's report included discussions on Braille signage,ADA
patrons,and new hires. After contacting Marg Hooper,the Librarian will order signs if Braille is not
needed,if needed it will be an agenda item for the October meeting. The current Internet Access Policy
was discussed and found to be appropriate and conform to ALA standards. Employee training on the
policy will continue under Director Gallinger's supervision. The Eagle Library Board will begin to
review policies as an ongoing task and update as needed.
Moved by Fischer and seconded by Krasen that the September Library bills be paid. Unanimous
acceptance.
Moved by Krasen and seconded by Fischer that a proposal be submitted to the Mayor and City Council for
the appointments of new trustees as follows:
Liz Horn to fill unexpired term of Terry Muse and G.Don Gray to be appointed to the position
open with the expiration of VP Krasen's appointment. Unanimous acceptance.
Proposed by President Thomas that the following slate be considered for election:
President-Terry Loftus
Vice President-Liz Horn
Secretary-Kelli Fischer
Moved by Fischer and seconded by Krasen. Unanimous acceptance.
Due to the Columbus day holiday the next regular meeting of the Eagle Library Board will be October 18,
1999.
The September meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
