Minutes - 1999 - Eagle Public Library - 08/09/1999 - Regular Eagle Library Board of Trustees Monthly meeting August 9, 1999 Minutes The Board was called to order at 6:55 with the following members present: President Susan Thomas, Vice President Pat Krasen,Treasurer Terry Loftus,member Kelli Fischer and Librarian Ann Gallinger. The city council Liaison was absent. Adoption of June Minutes was held. It was moved by Vice President Krasen and seconded by Treasurer Loftus that the bid by Adriana Patterson be approved pending one more telephone bid. That telephone bid to be secured and reported by Librarian Gallinger. Unanimous acceptance. Moved by member Fischer and seconded by Vice President Krasen that July Library bills be paid. Unanimous acceptance. Moved by member Treasurer Loftus and seconded by Vice President Krasen that August Library bills be • paid.Unanimous acceptance. The Board read and understands the implications of the July 19, 1999 Memorandum re:Use of Bond Proceeds and Related Eagle Library Matters,from Susan Buxton. The Board determined that the 1999/2000 budget purchase of books does fall under the heading of"related facilities"and that excess bond proceeds should be used for that purpose. It was moved by President Thomas and seconded by Treasurer Loftus that bond excess be applied to book and equipment purchase for the Library's 1999/2000 fiscal year budget. Unanimous acceptance. Referenced letter attached. It was announced that President Thomas has been nominated for ALA Trustee of the Year. After review of ALA policies,it has been determined that our Meeting Room Facilities policy needs to be amended. No reference or exclusion may be made to religious or political organizations and therefore our policy will be revised and dated 8/99. This change was moved by Vice President Krasen and seconded by Treasurer Loftus. Unanimous acceptance. Updated policy attached. It was discussed that Vice President Krasen's tenure expires 9/30/1999. She indicated that she would not be seeking the post for the next term. There are currently two vacancies on the Board and Librarian Gallinger was tasked with contacting the local press for notification. The September Meeting of the Eagle Library Board of Trustees was set for September 13, 1999 at 7pm. The August meeting as adjourned at 7:55 pm.
