APRIL 15, 1996
The meeting was called to order by Donna at 7:00 P.M. Donna, Share Dene, Ann,
Gary and Pat were present. Susan was excused.

Minutes of March 11, 1996: Approved by unanimous consent.
Financial Reort: Reviewed and approved. Ann stated that the back of the
library outside needs care. Moved by Gary to authorize Ann to hire someone
to take care of the parking area. Seconded by Share Dene. Approved by board.
Bills: Bills totaling $3,068.77 were approved by unanimous consent.
Director's Report and Statistics: Statistics were up for March. Patron
imput is an ongoing project. Ann spoke to Frank Thomason from the Ada
Express newspaper and he will try to publicize the library more.

Committee Reports: None
Unfinished Business: Tom Wilson called Donna regarding the central library
concept with shared services by Eagle and Star, brought up by the Ada County
library board at our March meeting. The idea was discussed. No conclusion
was reached. A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Ada County Board
for their efforts in bringing this concept to our board.

Eagle FUn Days The summer reading theme for this year for the library is
"Reading is a picnic". A float depicting this theme, to be placed on a
pickup with children having a picnic, balloons, streamers, etc., was
suggested. An effort to get a truck for this purpose will be made. A
sign-up sheet for children to ride on the float will be placed in the
library. Friends of the Library will be contacted to help organize and
decorate the float. A meeting will be held in May to tie up these plans.

New Business: Budget Gary presented a basic budget with what the
assumptions are for the board to review. Gary will work up some numbers
and the board will go into more detail later. Ann will talk to the city
regarding what is being done in the areas of salaries, workman's compensation,
FICA, public retirement and insurance to find out what the salary increases
are going to be. The city may have some guidelines in these areas. Ann
brought up the possible need of more help in the future, and having two
peop4e. on Saturday, another part-time employee should be considered in a
future budget if library hours are increased.
