T.V., direct mail, phone books, etc. Attend various meetings being held in
the community and go to where the groups are and say something good about
the library. Go to the city council and thank them for their support for us
and let them know what is happening with the library.
Patronage in newly built libraries goes up substantially, as high as 50% after
openings. Donna suggested that a list of the newest books be published in the
paper to make patrons aware of what is available. Ann suggested two story
times; one for school age and one for pre-school during the summer. Utilizing
Eagle Fun Days to be held June 8th, the library could have a float in the
parade.
Tom Wilson, Dick Davey and Dian Hoffpauir from Ada Community Library presented
the concept of an expanded District Library with shared services for Star and
Eagle, and combined utilization of technology. The Eagle board will take this
concept under advisement and further discussion.
