DECEMBER 11, 1995
The meeting was called to order by President Donna Abbott at 7:00 P.M.
Shara Dene, Ann, Susan, Donna and Pat were present. Gary was excused.
Minutes of the November 13, 1995 meeting were approved by unanimous
consent.
Financial Report: None. The city computer broke down.
Approval of Bills: Bills totaling $758.74 for December were approved by
unanimous consent.
Director's Report/Statistics: The monthly statistics have gone up. EXpired
library cards are being replaced with the new plastic types at the time of
renewal. Ada County patrons made up approximately 21% of the checkouts for.
November.
Committee Reports: Donna/Gary attended the pre-council city meeting on
December 5, 1995, regarding the library salaries. The budget will stand
as submitted.
Unfinished Business: Ada County library contract expires the end of December 1995.
Donna contacted Richard Davey, Chairman of the Ada County Library Board. He
stated that they are interested in renewing the contract and will review it
at their December 20, 1995 meeting. Eagle library served 233 Ada County
families since January 1995.
New Business: The city council has requested a job description of the Library
Director and Librarian for the council's review. Motion made by Susan that
a letter be sent from the board to the city council informing them that we
were reviewing the job description for Director and Librarian and will provide
them with this information shortly after the next library board meeting.
Further notion made by Susan that any further inquires from city council be
made directly to the library board. Seconded by Shara Dene, passed by
unanimous consent. Shara Dene informed us that Roni Ekman, the cleaning
lady, will be unable to clean the library any more. She will clean through
Decemmb-er. A new cleaning person will be sought to fill the position, It was
requested that the board members inquire in the community for someone to fill
the position.
