BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
DECEMBER 12, 1994
I . Meeting called to order , 7:05. Gary, Liz , Pat , Ann, and
Stan in attendance.
II . Minutes of November 14, 1994, approved unanimous consent .
III . Financial report approved by unanimous consent .
IV. Bills discussed and approved by unanimous consent .
V. Director 's report/statistics. City Hall has asked all
library employees to fill in a city job application. Ann was
concerned with the clause about firing employees and the Board
assured her that was a Board of Trustee's responsibility and not
a City decision.
Ann will have the library open from 10 a.m. to 1 p .m. on
Christmas Eve. Board moved to approve: Pat/Liz . Unanimous
consent .
A letter arrived from Vicky at Ada Community Library: 180
county families have registered at Eagle through November .
The library received a $400.00 memorial in the name of Betty
DeShazo .
VI . and VII . Committee reports and unfinished business
Ada County Contract--Virginia McDevitt . Gary talked with
her and they agreed to a $40.00 per family fee which represents a
40'/. increase. Gary suggested that we let the amount cap at
$7,000 this year because of their budget restrictions . This
would then be part of this year 's extension of agreement . Motion
to approve: Liz/Pat . Unanimous consent .
Reciprocal agreements with neighboring libraries need to be
changed so that borrowing patrons are responsible for lost
materials . Ann will check with individual directors and prepare
a letter asking for this change.
The furnace is fixed .
Carpeting : Stan's won' t work . He estimated $400 to $600
for new carpet . He will contact his carpeters and sent them out
to see Ann.
Gary is checking on the gravel which hasn' t arrived yet .
VIII . New business. Job descriptions for Ann and Janice
presented to board . Motion to accept : Pat/Liz Unanimous consent .
Fax policy that Janice wrote was reviewed . Accept : Liz/Pat .
Unanimous consent .
Software needs . Discussion of features and prices. Would
rather spend the money on the Follett software .
IX . Friends . No report
X . Public comments . Stan talked about the Baker property.
