MEETING MINUTES--NOVEMBER 14, 1994
Present : Ann, Gary, Pat , Liz , Donna, Stan
I . Call to order : 7:09
II . Minutes of 10/ 17 meeting--read and approved by unanimous
consent .
III . Financial report :
-Budget mostly clear and spent except for capital and
building carry-over .
-PERSI--Janice--needed to be on PERSI since August . Janice
has been asked to pay $109 .00 to make up the difference.
-City work week is 35 hours. Ann suggests putting Janice on
a monthly salary to meet the city requirements. We need to be in
compliance with other city workers. So moved : Liz , seconded by
Donna. Approved by unanimous consent .
-Air conditioning repair bill was put into a category from
last year 's budget .
IV. Bills: approved by unanimous consent
V . Director 's report :
-Statistics: Number of Ada County cards issued has not
dropped as expected with new Ada/Boise City agreement .
-Audio cassette use increasing
-Ann is ready to order 1995 encyclopedias--spring
publication
VI . Committee reports:
-The library FAX machine will be for library and official
use in order to send all business to the local shop owner . We
should not be in competition with local business . If a patron
insists on using our FAX for a legitimate reason, a $2.00 per
page charge will be applied--the same as the Eagle business . We
need a statement to that effect for the policy manual--Janice was
assigned to write this statement for the next meeting .
VII . Unfinished business:
-Ada County contract :
Gary said they are being cooperative and receptive. They
will need our final numbers . Two amounts suggested for non-
resident fees: $40.00/family--count of families will be done in
January or $32 .50--the previous charge. We need to determine
what the non-resident fee is at Ada County and Boise Public . A
motion was made to authorize Gary to negotiate by Pat , seconded
by Liz . Passed by unanimous consent .
-Boise Public Library:
Don' t know yet how reciprocal agreement is working with Ada
County yet . We need to open our agreement with Boise Public to
amend the agreement to read that the Eagle patron using the Boise
Public Library is personally responsible for any lost materials .
VIII .New Business:
-Word Processing program:
Get license for city' s WordPerfect . Ann needs to shop
around for what spread sheet program she wants. The city uses
Quatro-Pro . The library program needs to be compatible with the
city.
-Stan will check into getting carpet for the back of the
library.
-Gary will check with Wright Brothers about gravel for the
back parking area.
-Furnace needs repair . Call Intermountain Gas first .
-Looked at ISL grant query . Agreed that it is worth looking
into so the application was sent back .
-Job descriptions--Liz will work on.
-Portable phone--Friends will accept as their project

X . Public comments:
-Morgan Maser b Stan working with homeowners in the
library/Albertson' s area.
