Minutes - 1990 - Eagle Public Library - 06/11/1990 - Regular EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES JUNE 11, 1990 7:00 P.M. LIBRARY. The meeting was called to order by Mike Covault. Those present were: Linda Phillips, Kelli Blair, Pat Krasen, Ann Gal linger and Rick Yzaguirre. Minutes of the May 14, 1990 meeting were approved. MSC. Kelli/Linda. Statistics: Circulation figures were given. An will go to Ada County District Library on Wednesday to get more books to circulate at Eagle. The Summer Reading Program was discussed. The South West Circulating Videos will be changed on July 6, 1990, with 60 different videos replacing the ones that will be taken to Garden City Library. /31/is totaling $3,210.74 were approved for payment. MSC. Linda/Kelli. ylx) Expense Summary was presented. $300.00 from Hewlett Packard was received for the Summer Reading Program. Unfinished Business: Ann received three (3) bids to replace the sewer and they were given to Rick for City Council decision. Adopt-A-Book flyers were taken door to door by the Girl Scouts in Eagle and Kelli will get contacts and addresses for radio publicity. Boise Public/Ada County Contracts: Mike took Eagle's proposal to Lynn Melton. The Boise Trustee Board did not support it. 1) they had no control over our board regarding expenses and 2) they cannot reach their own goals, Example: open Mondays in Boise, and they do not want to take on other responsibilities. Eagle Trustees are invited to lunch at 11:30 on June 18, 1990 with Boise Public to discuss the terms of the proposal and contract. The job description would be the same as the Mall Branch as Senior Library Assistant beginning at $14,500 to $19,600 salary. Boise Public would budget $1,300 for health insurance opposed to the $1,500 for health/dental that Eagle has. Also discussed was a possible collection on loan from Boise. Mike submitted a proposal to the Ada County Librarian requesting they submit their bid by June 27, 1990. There was discussion to negotiate to extend the contract with Ada County. They will be asked to provide longer hours at Eagle. Consistent hours for Eagle Library were discussed. New Business: Eagle fun Days Breakfast There were 500 t adults served and 121 children. The amount taken in was $1,500 less expenses. Shari Sharp, Treasurer for the Chamber of Commerce, will submit a complete report later. It was suggested the cost be raised to cover the sales tax that has to be collected. Summer Reading films: Mike proposed that software budgeted money be used for the films for the summer.
