Minutes - 1990 - Eagle Public Library - 04/09/1990 - Regular EACTF PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
APRIL 9, 1990 LIBRARY 6:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by President Mike Covault. Present were: Chris
Gaston, Pat Krasen, Kelli Blair and Ann Gallinger. Linda Phillips was excused.
Bills totaling $2,321.31 were approved. MSC Chris/Kelli. The cost for the
repair of the copier was $247.50. Steve Sammons was to check with the City for
payment of the Boise Sewer Service bill of $38.50 and also check on the sewer
line. Lyons plumbing would do the project for $500.00.
The joint application by Eagle Public Library and Ada County District Library for
the "Let's Talk About It" grant was approved and the theme will be "Idaho, Tough
Paradise". There will be two meetings held at Eagle and three meetings held at
Ada County Library. Ada County Library provided the $50.00 match. The program
will begin in September. Mike reported that Steve Guerber did not get any grant
money from U. S. West for the Sumer Reading. Ann will be the speaker at the
Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, April 10th. She gave the board a letter for their
approval and comments that will be passed out to the businesses seeking donations
for the Summer Disney Films.
Auditor Jo Bolen reviewed the Library audit with the Board. The working capital
compared to expenditures went down in 1989 from 12.3% to 9.9% which means a weak
position. It (fund balance) should be 30 to 35%, or in the Library position, the
percent should be 2% to get by with as the Library gets tax money on a 1/2th
(monthly) basis from the City. The Library should try to have more on hand. The
auditor was asked what percent of the City's budget aces the Library take. She
didn't remember. The auditor stated the City annexation should help both the
City and Library. She said thatAdopt-A-Book was a great idea for raising money
indirectly. She stated that basically Ann's done a good job of keeping your records.
The Library needs to increase the fund balance. The page 3 correction will be
sent by the auditor.
Minutes of the March 12, 1990 meeting were approved. MSC Kelli/Mike.
The Eagle Fun Days Breakfast was discussed. Kelli works for White Cloud Mountain
Company who will donate the coffee for the breakfast and it will need to be picked
up. The meeting was adjourned for the Trustee's tour of Ada County District Library.
