January 8, 1990 7:00 P.M. Library
The meeting was called to order by Chris Gaston, Acting President, at 7:00 P.M.
on January 8, 1990. Present were: Chris Gaston, Pat Krasen, Larry Martin and
Librarian Ann Gallinger. Mike Covault was excused. Gary Walker also attended.
Linda Phillips was excused.
The minutes were approved with the correction: Newsletter will be quarterly, not
bi-monthly, for the City Council. Approved as amended. MSC Martin/Gaston.
Librarian's Report:
The payment of bills of $4,780.98 was approved. MSC Gaston/Martin. Ann will go
to ACDL for more books on January 10th and Pat Krasen will go with her. Ann will
net with Dian Hoffpauir at Eagle Public on Monday, January 15, 1990.
A meeting of the Eagle Public Library Board and the Ada County District Library
Board has been scheduled for January 25, 1990 at 7:00 P.M. at Marie Callender's.
The reciprocal Borrowing Agreement between Eagle Public and Orden City Public
was reviewed and approved. MSC Martin/Krasen.
Review of Goals
Gary Walker commented on the improved relationship between the Library and the
City Council. He stated the City's attitude toward the Library is currently
very healthy.
Possible Future Goals
1. Solicit and train volunteers so Library's hours can increase
2. New Facilities--Will define more specifically
3. Goal 3 (getting computer on line) has been completed
4. Submit grant request for Eagle Public to Wittenberger Foundation
5. Buy all the Centennial history books--perhaps by grant Haney
It was decided to mull these over and deal with them at the next meeting on
February 12, 1990.
