September 11, 1989 Library 7:00 P.M.
The Eagle Public Library Board meeting was called to order by President
Chris Gaston at 7:00 P.M. Present were board members: Susan McColl, Mike
Covault, Linda Phillips, Tarry Martin, Ann Gallinger, Librarian, and Steve
GUPrber, Mayor.
1. The minutes of the July 10, August 7, and August 21, 1989 Meetings were
approved as written. MSC Susan, Chris.
2. Ann presented the Librarian's report:
a) ACFLD circulation was 44% for the month of August.
b) 81 new library cards were issued
c) Bills totalling $3,941.65 were approved MSC Susan, Larry
3. The following Library Board elections were made
President-Mike Covault
Secretary—Larry Martin
Treasurer—Linda Phillips
4. ACFLD Contract
Ann, Gary Walker and Tan Minow will net with Dian on September 12, 1989,
to review details of the current contract proposals. A letter to the ACFI D
Patrons of the Eagle Public Library will be written to inform them that contract
negotiations are in progress and that if a contract is not agreed to by
9/30/89, they would have to purchase a flop-resident card to continue use of
the Eagle Library.

5. 1990 Library Budget
Steve GUerber is recommending that the Eagle Library budget not be cut.
Be will ask the City Council to approve on a budget of $31,760 at their Tuesday
meeting.
6. New Library Board Candidate
Each Board member was asked to nominate a candidate to replace Susan McColl.
Ideally we world like to find someone with a legal background who has time to
help develop the library.
7. Videocassette Checkout Policy
We discussed the need to establish a policy for the check out of PBS Video
Tapes to the Public Schools. We agreed that interested teachers must go
through the school librarian and that the tapes could be checked out for
one (1) week and can not be rechecked out .for three (3) weeks. The quantity
that can be checked out at one time will be left to the librarian's judgement.
