May 9, 1988
Library 7:00 P.M.
The Board of Trustees of the Eagle Public Library met at 7: 00
P.M. on May 9, 1988 in the Library. The meeting was called
to order by President Ada Costanzo. All Board members were present .
Librarian Ann Gallinger, Gary Walker, Dian Haffpauir, and Pat
Bonine were also present . The minutes were approved as written
(MSC, Leola, Mike) .
ADA COUNTY FREE LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD
Pat Bonine, President of the ACFLD, and Dian Hoffpauir, District
Director, presented a proposal for the fiscal year 1988-89. The
proposal outlined requirements, funding and further expansion
of ACFLD. The Eagle Library Board will meet with Boise and
Garden City ' s Boards to discuss a joint proposal to be presented
the the ACFLD Board .
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT
Ann presented the April statistics and they were noted. Bills
totaling $4,092 .60 were presented and approved (MSC, Chris,
Susan) .
TRUSTEE WORKSHOP REPORT
Ada and Chris shared ideas from the Trustee Workshop held in
April at the Red Lion.
SURVEY
Mike presented a data sheet that tabulated 114 surveys . The
data sheet provided informatirn concerning the population served
and their predominant ocupations . The Board discussed publication
of the data to the public and approved that publication when all
figures have been complied .
BUDGET COMMITTEE
Mike presented figures for capital outlay expenditures for the
remaining fiscal year. Budget committee has not met to discuss
the budget for fiscal ' 88- ' 89.
SATURDAY HOURS
The public response to Saturday hours during the trial period
in April was favorable and the Board supports opening the Library
on Saturday, if staffing is available . The proposed period for
Saturday opening is September through May .
EAGLE FUN DAYS BREAKFAST
The Library Board is sponsoring the Eagle Fun Days Breakfast this
year as a money-making project for the Library. The breakfast
will be held on June 11 , 1988 from 7:00 A.M. to 10: 30 A.M.
Specific Board members will be responsible for set-up, food,
volunteer help, and clean-up.

ALA MEMBERSHIP
Ann is sending the membership forms for the Board . The grant
applications have been sent for the summer ALA conference in
New Orleans .
SUSAN BREAUX
The Board moved to give Susan Breaux a $50 .00 gift certificate
from the Bazaar in appreciation of all the work and time she
gave to the Library developing and tabulating the User Survey.
