The Trustees of the Eagle Public Library met May 11, 1987
in the Library at 7 : 00 P .M. Present were Ada Costanzo, Glida
Bothwell, and Leola Yucis. Joan Hill, liaison from the Friends
and Tom Minow, liaison from the City Council were also present.
Minutes were read with one correction--Wayne Crosby, not City
Council, had asked for Library plans. MSC Glida, Leola that
minutes be accepted as corrected.
LIBRARIANS REPORT:
All wiring is completed for the computer. Bills totaling
$1, 418 . 98 were approved. MSC Leola, Glida that the bills be
allowed.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY:
Joan reported that the Friends will have a general meeting
as soon as school is over; notices will be posted. There was
discussion concerning the Friends working on the History of
Eagle for the Centennial. Joan agreed to contact Shari Sharp
with this.
SURVEY UPDATE:
Chris has prepared copies of Student Survey for Public
Libraries for each Board member. They will be discussed at
the next Board meeting.
LIBRARY PLANNING:
There is no push to make plans for a completed Library,
however, it is necessary to discuss footage. Tom Minow will
invite the architect to our next meeting to help with this.
PUBLIC RELATIONS UPDATE:
Glida has prepared a draft of a Public Relations Policy
which she gave us to study before our next meeting.
SALARY RANGE:
We discussed pro' s and con' s of establishing a salary
range, but no decisions will be made until all Board members
are present.
BUDGET PROCEDURE :
MSC Glida, Leola that the Library have a separate auditing
and bookkeeping system and will set up a separate account to be
handled by a person designated as Treasurer, with two (2)
signatures required on checks. This procedure to begin on
FY 1988--October 1, 1988 .
At their April 21 , 1987 meeting the City Council approved a
motion to make up for the amount of money neglected to be included
in the Library Budget. This amount to be taken from the General
Fund.

After discussion the Board decided to reimburse Glida for
some of the matching funds for expenditures to A.L.A. in San
Francisco.
