JANUARY 12 , 1987 7 : 00 P.M. LIBRARY
Eagle Public Library Board met at 7 : 00 P.M. , January 12 , 1987 ,
in the Library. Members present were Ada Costanzo, Susan McColl,
Chris Gaston, Leola Yucis, and Ann Gallinger. Glida Bothwell was
excused.
The meeting was called to order by President Ada. Minutes of
the November meeting were read. MSC Susan, Leola that minutes be
accepted as submitted.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT:
December statistics were reviewed. Bills for $217 . 50 were
presented, also expenditure of $11. 48 from Petty Cash. MSC Leola,
Susan that the bills be allowed.
President reported on her meeting with City Council stating
nothing was accomplished.
The ILA Legislative Breakfast will be January 14 , 1987 in the
Statehouse from 7 : 00 to 10 : 00 A.M. Ada and Ann will assist. The
breakfast will be followed by a Legislative Workshop at 10 : 30 A.M.
at the Idaho State Library.
There was discussion on planning of a new library with a
decision made to view a video tape on "Establishing a New Library" .
No dates were set.
Consideration was given to membership in the new Eagle Chamber
of Commerce. Ada will contact Kris Watkins of the Friends about
designated membership and report back next month.
A letter was read from ALA acknowledging our application
for participation in their Audit.
The Library Board gave an afternoon tea for Friends of the
Library on November 16, 1986 at Chris Gaston' s home. This was
in appreciation for the work they had done on the new shelving
for the Library. Four members from Friends attended.
Susan was advised we again contact City Council stating our
position in writing and informing them of the Deputy Attorney
General ' s letter on the conducting of Library affairs. We also
need a statement relative to State Retirement fees and Grants,
Gifts, and Memorials. A workshop was scheduled for January 20th
at 7 : 00 P .M. to address this problem.
MSC Chris, Leola that the Library pay for Ada and Ann to
attend a seminar on "Assertiveness Training for Professionals"
to be February 10 , 1987 .

Some preliminary work was discussed regarding our acquiring
a computer and on training for Ann.
Work on our Policy Manual Update was postponed for a month.
A notation was made to review the By-Laws on ability to contract.
Meeting adjourned.
