Board of Trustees -Ieeting: March 10, 1986
The Eagle Public Library Board of Trustees met on Monday, March 10, 1986 at
the Library with President Glida Bothsell presiding. Members present were
Ada Costanzo, Susan McColl, Leola Yucis, and Chris Gaston. Ann Gallinger,
Librarian, Kris Watkins, Donna Abbott, and Marj Shelby, State Library Consultant,
were also present.
Minutes of the Febrary 10, 1986 meeting were approved with two corrections.
LBAB IAN'S .REPORT
Statistics were noted. Circulation and new resident cards were up for the
month of Febr .ry. Ada County Free Library District traffic remains one
third of the total service provided by the Library to patrons. Bills for the
month were approved and totaled $160.89.
Carma Allen was hired and began work March 10, 1986. She was hired to replace
Kris Watkins as assistant librarian.
It was moved and seconded that the library get a larger box at the Post Office.
It was moved and seconded that the fines be raised to 5¢. The motion carried
and will be effective May 1, 1986. April was designated as a fine free month.
It was moved and seconded that library hours return to the original hours:
9 - 7 Monday, and 9 - 5 Tuesday through Friday.
ACFLD
The next meeting of the ACFLD will be at 7:05 at the Boise Public Library, on
April 8, 1986. It was noted that book service to Star was being provided by
the Bookmobile of Fridays.
BUDGET COMITTEE
Glida Bothwell, Ann Gallinger, and Ada Costanzo will serve on the budget committee.
The initial rough draft will be presented at the May board meeting.
FRIENDS' REPORT
Kris Watkins, Friends' President, reported that 44,950.25 had been raised,
after expenses, for the shelving fund. The project was started April 11, 1985.
The Friends' also reported that they were meeting the representative from the
shelving company on Friday, March 14, to order the rest of the shelving for
the Library. The installation of the new shelving will be coordinated by the
Friends' and the removal of the old shelving will be coordinated by the Library
Board.
CIRCULATION DESK
The new circulation desk was delivered March 10, 1986. The cost of the new
desk was $837.00. The cost of the desk unit was $689.00 saidn the book cart was
$148.00
OLD SHELVING
The Board agrees, in accordance with ordinance 25, the library take charge
of disposal of shelving to be replaced. Ann Gallinger will ask for bids for
old shelving from other libraries. The shelves will be tagged for sale if
other libraries are not interested in purchasing them.
DONATIONS FROM THE GOFER MARKET
The Gofer Market donated a total of ,1,864.05 to the Library shelving fund
from gas sales in February.
The March 10, 1986 meeting of the Library Board was adjourned at 8:25.
