Minutes - 1985 - Eagle Public Library - 09/23/1985 - Regular MINUTES EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD September 23 , 1985 Library 7 : 30 P .M. The meeting of the Eagle Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order at 7 : 30 p .m. by Glida Bothwell . All board members were in attendance . Librarian Ann Gallinger and Kris Watkins attended the meeting. Minutes were accepted and approved as written . Glida Bothwell was nominated for president and Chris Gaston was nominated for secretary. There was a motion to cast an unanimous vote for the slate of officers . Susan moved, Leola seconded, motion carried unanimously . LIBRARIAN' S REPORT : Bills totaling $795 . 96 were approved by motion with second to be paid and carried. The librarian ' s report was discussed. The children ' s books were cleaned and weeded and the section was finished except for those books checked out . There were 29 books weeded at this point . The Friends have ordered shelving that is double sided and has five shelves . The children ' s books will be on one side and the reference books on the other side . LIBRARY HOURS : Complaints have been voiced by patrons about the change in library hours . Glida will visit with the Mayor about returning to the old hours . The library will return to the original hours . ILA: Ann and Kris will attend all ILA meetings Thursday and Friday. Glida will cover the desk Friday morning and Leola in the afternoon. Ann will contact several volunteers to work Thursday. Susan moved and it was seconded that Carol Stiburek be added to the list of volunteers that can work at the desk. VOLUNTEER TRAINING : The materials are ready for the volunteer training on October 15th. Children from the Seventh Day Adventist Church are interested in training to help in the library. Ann will schedule a separate training time for them. Artilce VII , Section 3 in the policy manual may need to be changed because of contracting with ACFLD. EXECUTIVE MEETING : Glida and Leola attended the Friends meeting. Circle K donated $200 . 00 and $1 , 350 . 00 has been raised for shelving. Glida reported the Friends would like to purchase half of the new shelving after the Bazaar if $700 . 00 is raised. Page 2 . September 23 , 1985 BAZAAR: The Bazaar will be November 2nd and food will be served at both schools . Kris Watkins will be chairperson. The Friends will meet October 7 for their first meeting to plan the Bazaar. the new officers for the Friends are : Kris Watkins , President; Pat liechty , Vice President ; Kathy Taylor, Secretary and Donna Abbott , Treasurer. Ordering buttons to be purchased and sold by the Friends to advertize the shelving was discussed. PROCEDURE MANUAL : Ann has written 75% of the new manual . The pages not finished deal with the ACFLD procedures and will be completed when the contract for service begins . We have not received a letter of resignation from Beverly. There was discussion about a new board member for Beverly ' s term of one year . Ada Costanza and Anita Martin were discussed as board members . Ann will talk with Ada and she will be accepted if she accepts . Meetings will be moved to the Second Monday of the month. There was a motion and second and motion carried. The next meeting will be October 14 , 1985 . Chris Gaston was recommended to be reappointed to the Board. Glida will send a letter to City Council for her appointment . Ann , Leola and Kris will attend the ACFLD meeting in Kuna on the 8th of October. FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT was discussed. Susan stated that the City Attorney , Pat Riceci , must make a ruling on Ann ' s situation. RECIPROCAL BORROWING agreement was discussed. Leola moved to accept the agreement , Chris seconded. Motion passed unanimously. The agreement was signed by Glida and Ann . Meeting adjourned. President ATTEST : SEcretary
