Minutes - 1985 - Eagle Public Library - 03/18/1985 - Regular EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY Board of Trustees Meeting: March 18, 1985 The Eagle Public Library Board of Trustees met on Monday, March 18, 1985 at the library with Presid Ha ` presiding. Members present � were Glida Bothwell , -= �� � * Yucis " th~ Gaston, and Susan McColl . Also in attendance was Ann Ballinger, Librarian. Minutes of the February 19, and January 21 meeting were approved as corrected. LIBRARIAN' S REPORT Ann presented statistics for February. The monthly bills of $355. 41 were approved. GRANTS Ann and Bev check on on the Mellon Foundation Grant for a 60 volume set "Library of America" . The volumes are $27. 50 per volume. Bev will follow up on this as soon as possible for further information. If the library can show that $500' 00 has been raised by our library then we can apply for the grant for matching funds. It was moved, seconded and passed to apply for this grant. LSCA Grant We do not qualify for these grants, and will look further into other grants such as the Wittenberger. FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN Plans for the fund raising brochure were reviewed. Glida and Bev did some initial design for the brochure. After discussion and revision of the plan, it was moved, seconded and passed for the changes to be made and the brochure to be printed at the State Library. PORTA STRUCTURES Ann attended a presentation on this new concept in modular libraries for branches or small libraries, and gave the board a review of the porta-structures. Ada Co Library District Lynn Melton, Boise Public Library Director will give a presentation to explain contracting with the county district which Eagle would be able to do once the Ada County District finalizes their budget. A tentative amount of $15, 000 would be alloted to Eagle from the County District on a renewable yearly contract. The Eagle City Council would need to approve the contract along with the Trustees. Discussion followed. The meeting will be April 9th at Garden City Library. Other Business Bev handed out sections of the Library Standards for each Trustee to review before the next meeting and submit a written evaluation of how our library is or is not meeting these standards.
