Minutes - 1984 - Eagle Public Library - 09/10/1984 - Regular EAGLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES MEETING: September 10, 1984 The Eagle City Library Trustees held their regular meeting Monday, September 10, 1984, at 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Beverly Hancock. All members were present, also Librarian Ann Gallinger. Susan moved, Chris seconded the August minutes be approved. Motion carried. Statistics of the Library were reviewed. Especially noted was the tremendous amount of material that moves through the Library. There were no bills presented. Ann, Glida and Beverly plan to attend the ILA Convention in Sun Valley, October 3 - 5, 1984. Friends will advance money for Ann's convention expenses. The annual Community Bazaar is scheduled for November 3, 1984. Friends, assisted by the Library Board members, will again sell lunches. The Friends have originated a series of bookmarks to be placed in all library books checked out as a means of advertizing coming events. Their annual meeting will be September 27, 1984 at 7:30 P.M. in the Library. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a guest. Our Budget and Reorganization Plans have been approved by the City Council. A plan for complete reorganization of the Library has been worked out with the following assignments: Leola will work with Ann in organizing volunteers to work in the library. Susan will check on legal aspects of tax deductible contributions. Chris will work with Friends on Fund Raising. Glida and Beverly will prepare written work necessary to get information to the patrons. • SIRLS will have a workshop for Librarians on September 14, 1984. Ann and Beverly plan to attend. Their annual meeting and picnic will be September 22, 1984 at the Meridian Library starting at 11:00 A.M. Ann and Leola will rep resent Eagle Library. Chris was asked to contact Suzy Dettman regarding a logo for our stationery. There is nothing affirmative relative to a CWEP employee as yet. Susan's term as Trustee expires this month. The Board will recommend to the City Council that she be reappionted. Nominations were opened for new officers on the Board. Beverly and Glida were nominated for President and Secretary respectively. Leola moved that nominations be closed and the Secretary instructed to cast a unanimous ballot for the nominees. Chris seconded. Motion carried.
