MINUTES
MEETING: June 11, 1984
The Eagle Public Library Baord net June 11, 1984 at 7:30 p.m.
in the Library. After welcoming the new member, Chris Gaston,
President Beverly Hancock called the meeting to order. Members
present were Glida Bothwell, Chris Gaston, and Leola Yucis.
Susan McColl was excused. The Librarian Ann Gallinger also
attended. Minutes from the last meeting were reviewed. Glida
moved, Leola seconded that they be accepted. Motion carried.
Ann presented bills totaling $201.13. Leola moved- the bills
be allowed. Chris seconded. Notion carried.
President Beverly announced the Mayor had signed the application
for a CWEP employee, and it had been sent to the West Boise
Office.
President Beverly asked for Board approval to have Gloria Dittman
design some new stationery for us. Glida moved we have a new
letterhead designed and submitted to the Board for approval. Chris
seconded. Motion carried.
We reviewed some pictures of the Library's entry in the Parade
for Eagle Fun Days. Fun Days was considered very successful.
The titles for our Summer Films were noted and Board members
signed for duty in the Library to cover the time of the films.
Leola, June 26; Chris, July 10; Beverly July 17; Glida, July 24.
After some discussion, Glida moved we pay our part-time summer
employee $3.75 an hour. Chris seconded. Notion carried.
President Beverly discussed recent errors in Publications and
called for a motion that would create a Press and Publication
Committee consisting of the Librarian and Board President. All
published news must come from this committee. Leola so moved.
Chris seconded. Motion carried.
The Board approved and signed the recently completed Policy -
Manual. Copies will be made for all members.
The Budget Committee had prepared, for approval, a proposed budget
for presentation to the City Council. Glida moved we present this
proposed budget for 1984-85 to the City Council. Chris seconded
and the notion carried. Glida was asked to help work out graphs
on book budgets, comparable Library salaries, etc. for use in
this presentation.

There was a discussion of a need for a cooperative talk with
Friends. It was suggested there be a meeting of two (2) from
each group. Our President volunteered to contact the Friends'
President as to a date for a meeting.
Glida reported on SIRLS. Shirley Spencer is the new President
and Sylvia Hunt, Vice President. The picnic will be in September
on a Saturday. Leola was appointed as our new SIRIS Representative.
A luncheon for Donna was proposed for the same time as our regular
meeting in July. Donna will be consulted.
Ann asked the Board's permission to take July 2nd and 3rd as
vacation time. Kris Watkins will work full time. Glida so moved,
Chris seconded. Motion carried.
