MINUTES OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
November 16, 1983 1: 00 P.M.
The Eagle City Library Board of Trustees met November 16, 1983 at
1: 00 P.M. In the absence of President Donna Abbott, the
meeting was called to order by Glida Bothwell. Present were
members Susan McColl, Beverly Hancock, Leola Yucis and Librarian
Ann Gallinger. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Beverly
moved that the minutes be accepted as submitted. Susan seconded
and the motion carried.
Statistics for the month of October were reviewed. Ann told us
that subscriptions for magazines may be renewed anytime. There
were no bills to be paid.
We had no official report on the Bazaar but were told the profits
exceeded those of last year. The Friends of the Library feel the
need of more help for another year. Discussion followed on how
this may best be accomplished. A liaison is needed between the
Board of Trustees and the Friends of the Library.
Susan suggested we have a Christmas luncheon for the Friends of
the Library and other Volunteers. Beverly offered her home
for the occasion. It was decided to have it on December 8, 1983
at 11 : 30 A.M. Invitations will be sent. Members of the Board
will furnish the food.
It was reported that CWAP help in the Library must be decided
by the City Council. Susan will call the Mayor to clarify the
CWAP situation.
Ann reported she had been approached by the Boy Scouts about
collecting over due books for the Library as their project.
After some discussion Beverly moved that we not accept this
offer. Glida seconded. Motion carried.
Glida reported on a meeting at BPL of interested persons forming
a Library District in the county, such a District will include
all areas that do not already have Library service. Some
discussion followed. There should be more information
available after a scheduled February meeting.
