MINUTES OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
September 7, 1983 1: 00 P.M.
The Eagle Public Library Board met at 10 : 00 A.M. September 7, 1983
for a workshop. Much progress was made on the Policy and Procedure
Manual.
The regular meeting of the Board was called to order at 1: 00 P.M.
by President Donna Abbott. All Board members were present. The
minutes of the last meeting were accepted as submitted.
Librarian' s Report:
The Library statistics were reviewed. Circulation continues
to be good, also Interlibrary Loans. Ann presented bills totaling
$112 . 80 .
Leola reported on a meeting she attended relative to starting a
Children' s Reading Round Table in the Meridian area.
Ann reported on the PNLA meeting she attended in Sun Valley. Very
interesting lecture on author Judy Blume. The display of new books
was disappointing. Next year PNLA will be in Billings, Montana.
It was announced that the Friends of the Library will hold a
meeting September 15, 1983 at 2 : 30 P.M. Their annual meeting will
be September 29, 1983 at 7 : 00 P.M. Both meetings will be in the
Library.
There was extensive discussion on acquiring some much needed
help for the Library. We need Volunteer help. Jeanne suggested
we approach the Businessmen' s Association in regard to sponsoring
a part time worker. Ann will contact them, also the Senior
Citizen's group. Susan volunteered to call CETA, Job Training.
Glida will put an Ad in the paper and will contact the schools.
Jeanne submitted her resignation from the Board, due to family
pressures. It was reluctantly accepted.
Election of Officers:
President Donna called for nominations of Officers. Jeanne
proposed the present slate of Officers serve for one more year.
Glida the moved moninations be closed. Leola seconded. Motion
passed.

Glida moved we accept the present slate of Officers for the coming
year. Susan seconded. Motion carried. Donna was reelected for
President and Leola for Secretary for 1983-84 year.
ILA Convention:
The Convention is to be in Coeur d'Alene on October 5 - 8, 1983 .
Ann, Glida and Susan expressed a desire to attend at least part
of the sessions. It was decided to send a written proposal to the
City Council to help pay for two (2) delegates to the ILA
Convention.
