MINUTES
April 13, 1983 12 :00 Noon
The Eagle Library Board met at noon April 13, 1983. The meeting
was called to order by President Donna. Members present were
Glida and Leola. Susan and Jeanne were excused. The minutes
from the last meeting were approved as submitted.
Ann presented bills for $74 . 69 . Leola moved, Glida seconded, that
the bills be paid. Motion passed. Ann noted that circulation in
the library had increased, she also drew our attention to the
decorations in the library for National Library Week. Because
Carol Haley was absent, any discussion on painting the library
was postponed.
Ann and Glida attended the workshop on Grant Writing. Glida reported
that some grant money is available, but not all would be for our
purpose. Presentation of the application for a grant is very
important. The Idaho State Library will give some help. Caldwell
Public Library has a Grant Foundation Center where we may get
information. It is hoped there will be some money for construction.
Donna and Ann attended the Open House at Middleton Library. They
reported the building nicely renovated and very adequate. Ann
remarked on the absence of library representatives from the
state and SIRLS.
There were 34 persons attending the demonstration on Speedy
Housekeeping given by Marilyn Shinn in the library. Glida will
contact Eagle Landscaping relative to prospects of a session on
Gardening.
Library Open House sponsored by Friends of the Library will be
April 20 , 1983 from 10 :00 a.m. to 5 :00 p.m.
April No-fine month is having good results .
It was decided to run an advertisement for a Summer Employee in
the Statesman for 3 days, April 29 , 30 and May 1. Deadline for
applications is to be May 13, 1983. The Board will meet May 18
to work on the Budget and review Summer Employee applications.
The regular board meeting will start at 12 : 30 p.m.

Glida reported on SIRLS Executive Board meeting, March 30 , 1983.
She asked for any suggestions regarding the SIRLS ' Budget.
We went on record as stating funding for interlibrary loans
would be our priority.
Glida moved that we send a letter to our Congressmen supporting
Revenue Sharing. Leola seconded and the motion passed. Donna
volunteered to write the letter signed by the Board. We will
ask the Friends to to the same.
