LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
February 9 , 1983 12 : 00 Noon
The regular meeting of the Eagle Public Library Board met
February 9 , 1983 at 12 : 00 noon. The meeting was called to
order by President Donna Abbott. All members were present.
The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as submitted.
Librarian ' s Report:
Statistics for the past month were favorably reviewed. Bills
for $758. 88 were presented. Susan moved that the bills be paid.
Leola seconded. Motion passed. Ann reported on three work-
shops to be sponsored by SIRLS. They are as follows : March 11,
1983 Grant Writing - Susan Gilroy; April 22 , 1983 Genealogy -
Jerry Glenn of Ricks; May 6 , 1983 Selection of Children' s Books -
Speaker to be announced. A Polk City Directory was discussed.
Ann will approach the Eagle Businessmen' s Association relative
to the purchase of one for the Library. Ann volunteered to fill
out an application for Friends of the Library and Board Members
for an award from Idaho Wolunteers. Donna Abbott will help.
The Rev. Ernie Smith will lead a discussion group on "The Winds
of War" on February 15, 21 and 38.
Memorials :
President Donna spoke of conferring with Alan Olsen from Summers
Funeral Home on placing memorial cards in Funeral Homes. She
agreed to further investigate cost of printing, etc.
Ada County Extension Program:
A workshop on Shortcut Sewing will be held February 15, 1983
at 9 : 30 a.m. in the Library with cost being 59 for handouts.
The time and date for another on Speedy Housekeeping will be
announced later.
Policy and Porcedure Manual :
The Board reviewed items of policy accomplished so far. It
was agreed to have a work session on February 23, 1983 at Jeanne
Covault' s home at 9 :00 a.m.

Other:
Susan inquired about hiring summer help. Further discussion
tabled until April or May.
