MINUTES OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
June 2, 1982 12:00 noon
The meeting was called to order by President Leola Yucis. All members were
present and representative Carol Haley from city council.
Minutes were approved as submitted. The library board reviewed statistics
and Glida made a motion that bills be paid in the amount of $818.06. Passed.
Susan reported that the Community Development Block Grant had been completed
May 27 and we should hear by July 1, 1982 if we received the grant. The board
thanked Susan for her tine and work with this grant.
Glida reported on the May 20 SIRLS meeting. SIRLS reviewed and passed their
proposed budget for 1982-83. There will be $9,300.00 in matching grant Honey.
Each library can earn and match up to $300.00. There will be no special needs
grant. Meetings for librarians have been increased to six for next year, instead
of two.
There will be a training session for library volunteers May 3 from 9:00 to 12:00.
Susan made a motion that notes or tapes be taken at the session and a little manual
be drafted and each volunteer have a copy. Glida seconded. Motion passed. The
Eagle Public Trustees discussed and recommended that the librarian use
volunteers who have attended session workshop.
Each board member reviewed his part of the work on the policy and procedure
manual.
Chris Gaston is our new summer employee this year. Leola and Glida will help Ann
with the summer reading registration June 7. Each board member signed up to
help with the summer films. The films begin June 29, 1982 with the showing
of Candleshoe.
The board reviewed and passed the proposed 1982-83 budget. Carol Haley will take
the budget to the city council. Ann reported that the library board is covered
under liability errors and omissions insurance. There will be an autograph party
for Tim Woodward on June 10, 1982 from 10:00 to 12:00. The community is invited.
