LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
October 7, 1981 12:00 noon
The meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Eagle Public Library was called
to order by President Leola Yucis. All members were present. The minutes
of the August meeting were accepted as submitted.
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
Ann reviewed the September statistics. Glida and Ann attended SIRLS meeting.
There is a new abridged edition of the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, and
there will be a two day workshop in the spring on the new cataloging rules.
Bills for September were $229.67 and they were reviewed and authorized to be
paid. Glida and Ann will be attending the IEMA Conference in Sun Valley
October 8 - 10th. Dr. Charles Bolles will share his observations of the state
of library services in Idaho and what the future holds.
BAZAAR:
November 7th is the Bazaar. Jeanne will attend the meeting of the Friends of
the Library and delegate work to them. The library board will participate
also.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY:
Jeanne will pass out phamplets to the friends, tell them about the possibility
of a book sale in the spring and how they can help lobby in the legislature.
She will ask them if they have any ideas about our storage problem in the
library. There was a notion made by Susan McColl and seconded by Glida Bothwell
that the SIRLS grant of $499.00 be taken out of the Friends Savings Account and
deposited to the City of Eagle and then be requested back out of the Fund
Balance to purchase a new set of encyclopedias.
OTHER:
There will be a Trustee's Workshop at BPL on Thursday, October 22, from 11:00 p.m.
to 3:00 p.m. Donna, Susan, Glida and Leola will attend.
November 12 is a budget hearing for SIRIS, Glida Bothwell will attend.

The library board discussed the shortage of storage in our library. Ann will
be on the agenda of the City Council to ask them if they have any suggestions
on storage space.
The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held November 4, 1981 at
12:00 noon at the home of Glida Bothwell.
