LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
September 2, 1981 12:30 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Eagle Public Library was
called to order by President Susan McColl at 12:30 P.M. on September 2, 1981.
The meeting was held at the hone of Jeanne Covault. All members were
present. The minutes of the July 1, 1981 meeting were read and accepted as
submitted.
LIBRARIANS REPORT:
Ann gave us statistics for July and August to review. She also gave a very
interesting report on the Summer Reading Program and the films shown.
Attendance for both was very good.
Bills for $191.00 were presented and authorized to be paid. In the future
a fee of $3.50 will be charged for films received from ISL.
Our 1980-81 budget seems to be balancing out quite well. It was the
recommendation of the Board that our remaining book irony be used to build
up our children's and young adult's sections.
PROPOSED BUDGET:
Our proposed 1981-82 budget for $17,870.00 appears to be acceptable to the
City Council.
SIRLS GRANTS:
We have received a Special Needs Grant from SIRLS for $499.00 to purchase
a set of Encyclopedias for our Reference Section. It was decided to deposit
the money in the Friends of the Library account so that we could purchase
a 1982 set.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR:
Jeanne volunteered to serve again as coordinator for the Library Booth
at the Bazaar. We hope to have some help this year from the newly
organized Friends of the Library.
TERM EXPIRATION:
Glida moved, Donna seconded that a letter of request for reappointment
of Jeanne Covault be sent to the City Council. Notion passed.

FT.FCTION OF OFFICERS:
Susan presented a new slate of Officers for 1981-82 year. Those presented
were President; Leola Yucis, Secretary; Donna Abbott. There being no
other nominations; Jeanne moved, Glida seconded the nominations be approved.
Notion carried.
Glida was reappionted to serve as our representative to SIRLS for another
year.
OLD BUSINESS:
Susan set September 23, 1981 for a 7:30 P.M. meeting at the library for
formal organization of our Friends of the Library.
Glida gave us a preview of the ILA meeting for 1982 to be held at Sun
Valley.
Susan expressed her appreciation for the cooperation of the Board Members
for the past year.
A vote of thanks to Jeanne for her hospitality and to Jeanne and Susan for a
most delicious lunch.
