LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
June 3, 1981 12:30 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Eagle City Library Board was called to order
by President Susan at 12:30 P.M. June 3, 1981. Leola Yucas was absent.
Minutes of the May 6, 1981 meeting were amended when Glida moved, Donna
seconded to table the request that Susan write a letter to city council
about the summer help, since that item is now in the library budget.
Notion carried. Bills for $129.25 were presented and authorized to be
paid.
Story Hour will be at 10:30 on Thursdays for throughout the summer. Board
members are welcome to volunteer!
PROPOSED BUDGET:
A copy of the budget has been submitted to city council with a cover letter.
Donna moved, Jeanne seconded that we more to adopt the proposed budget
drafted at the May 20, 1981 special meeting. Notion carried.
SUMMER READING:
Ann will attend a storytelling workshop given by Susan Brown of BPL on
June 10, 1981.
Registration for our summer reading program will be June 8 - 12. The
"Tracking Licenses" given to the kids are being printed by the Idaho
State Library with our only cost being the paper. Ann and Glida took
puppets to the elementary schools to publicize the summer programs--
a great success.
SUMMER FILM SCHEDULE:
Films will be shown on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. The help schedule will be:
June 23 Donna
June 30 Jeanne
July 7 Susan
July 14 Leola
July 21 friend
July 28 friend
EAGLE FUN DAYS:
The trustees and Friends of the Library sold pop and 'cookies at the Fun
Days Parade on May 30, 1981 and made $47.00. Gloria Dittman, who coordinated
this effort, did a super job.

ILL LOST BOOKS
Boise Public Library sent us a bill for $112.09 last month for lost books
dating back to 1977. Susan suggested our policy be that we pay the bill
this time, but in the future we won't pay for books that we have no
record of - i.e. , a filled-out ILL form. Ann has sent a letter to BPL
asking them not to check out any books to "walk-ins". They must have
a permission slip from Eagle Public Library.
SIRLS
We have received our $200.00 matching grant from SIRLS for 1981 and are
signing it over to the Friends. Glida moved and Donna seconded that we
submit a special needs grant request for $400.00 to purchase a new
adult encyclopedia. Motion carried.
