LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
April 1, 1981 12:30 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Eagle City Library Board was called to order by
President Susan MCCOLL at 12:30 P.M. , April 1, 1981. Roll call showed all
board members present. Minutes accepted after addition on page 1, paragraph 4,
line 9 to read "Notion passed."
Statistics for March and the quarterly report were presented. Both were
reviewed favorably. Bills for $32.97 for magazines and books were presented
and authorized to be paid.
PROJECTOR DEMONSTRATION
As Idaho Camera could not bring out projectors for demonstrations, the board
authorized Ann to purchase her choice and pay for it out of Friends of the
Library account. If at all possible, the projector will be delivered and
demonstrated on Wednesday, April 8, 1981.
Jeanne moved that the Policy of the Board be written to read "the projector
will be loaned on a very limited basis and at the descretion of the librarian".
Glida seconded and the motion passed. After much discussion and due to a
discrepancy in Parliamentary Procedure, Jeanne nnved that her nation be
withdrawn. Glida seconded and this notion passed. The board members finally
decided that a policy for loaning the projector would be adopted at the
next meeting, May 6, 1981.
LIBRARY SPACE
As Mr Pearman from the city council could not be present to discuss with us
the plans for more room, Susan agreed to meet informally with the mayor asking
for more information on future plans.
STATE LIBRARY BUDGET
An was asked to find out particulars regarding the ISL budget at the SIRLS
meeting Friday, April 3, 1981.
ILA CONFERENCE
Glida reported that SIRLS would pay gas for one car from each library. They
will also pay travel expenses to ALA in June. The board agreed to pay for
registration to the ILA Conference for Ann and Glida; also, to pay for the
Friday night banquet for Ann.
