LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
September 3, 1980 6 : 30 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Eagle Public Library Board was called
to order September 3, 1980 by President JEANNE COVAULT. Roll
call showed ABBOTT, BOTHWELL, MCCOLL, YUCIS present. The minutes
of August 6, 1980 were approved as submitted.
LIBRARIAN' S REPORT
Statistics were reviewed. Bills for $72 . 94 were presented and
approved.
After some discussion it was decided that weekends are to be
counted as days in assessing fines for overdue books. The
librarian reported we have some money left for books. They
will be purchased. She also reported we will receive some
books from the Lois Lenski Covey Foundation. A letter to the
City Council from Mrs. Thatcher was read. Acknowledgment has
been sent. YUCIS moved we use $10 . 00 to send Susan to Foundation
Funding Information Seminar. ABBOTT seconded. Motion carried.
The seminar is to be October 20 , 1980 in Caldwell.
BUDGET
The Board agreed to raise the librarian' s wages 12% . FICA and
the rest of the budget to be adjusted accordingly. ABBOTT
moved, MCCOLL seconded, that we accept the budget as changed.
Motion carried.
LIBRARY FINES--ILL CHARGES
After lengthy discussion, our policy on library fines was
reaffirmed. Interlibrary loans are to be left free to the
public until such time as the Regional Library policy is
changed. SIRLS budget to be left as is.
CHRISTMAS SHOW--FUND RAISING
The Board decided that in the event of a Harvest Festival we
will sell food. Items will be similar to last year.
FRIENDS OF LIBRARY
COVAULT and MCCOLL volunteered to draft By-Laws for Friends of
the Library. Organizational meeting is planned.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Nominations were :
President : SUSAN MCCOLL
Secretary: LEOLA YUCIS
SIRLS Representative : GLIDA BOTHWELL
Slate of officers was approved as nominated. BOTHWELL moved
to table Items 10 and 11 on the Agenda. MCCOLL seconded. Motion
carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8 : 50 P.M.
