LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
August 6, 1980 6 : 30 P. M.
The regular meeting of the Eagle Public Library Trustees was
called to order by President Jeanne Covault August 7 , 1980 .
Present were ABBOTT, MCCOLL, YUCIS, COVAULT.
Minutes for June 4 , 1980 were approved as submitted. Library
statistics for June and July were reviewed.
Bills for June of $1 , 410 . 26 and July of $204 . 02 were presented
and approved.
President COVAULT attended summary meeting of Eagle Fun Days.
Library Board agreed to have a representative on the next years
committee.
Friends of the Library: Jeanne and Susan will work on By-laws
during August and September for Friends of the Library, as we
will need to have an established organization for a bank account.
Summer Reading: Ann gave a report on the success of the program.
At least 25% finished the requirements for the program. MCCOLL
and ABBOTT helped at the Haunting Party August 5 , 1980 at the
Eagle Elementary School with 34 in attendance.
Story Hour had proved very popular. Story tellers from BSU were
well received by the children. They enjoyed the children and how
well behaved and interested they were. A discussion on having
BSU help with story hours for school months was held.
Budget: President COVAULT asked for comments on the budget as
proposed. This budget for $16, 424 . 38 was to be prsented to the
Eagle City Council. Budget II is for $15,000 . 00 . Members will
attend the City Budget meeting.
A substitute for the librarian in case of necessary absence was
discussed. The Board feels a competent adult should be present.
