LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
6 : 30 P. M. February 6 . 1980
The regular meeting of the Eagle Public Library Board
of Trustees was called to order on February 6, 1980 , at 6 : 30
P. M. by President Jeanne Covault. ABBOTT, BOTHWELL, McCOLL,
YUCAS were present. The minutes of January 2 , 1980 meeting
were approved as submitted.
Scheduled meeting with Mary Lesser to discuss Friends
group was cancelled due to weather conditions .
LIBRARIAN ' S REPORT
Bills were presented and approved. Monthly statistics
reviewed.
Beginning Crochet class scheduled to start February 14
through March 6 , 9 : 00 A. M. to 12 :00 A. M. , Thursday mornings,
with a charge of $6 . 00 per session.
Beginning Needlepoint class scheduled to start February
18 through March 10 , 1 :00 P. M. to 3 : 00 P. M. , Monday after-
noons , with a charge of $6 . 00 per session.
The instructor for both classes will be Francis Laurence.
Discussion on probability of city buying Nazarene church
for city and library purposes.
ABBOTT moved and BOTHWELL seconded to request a paperback
book rack from SIRLS special needs grant. Motion resulted
as follows. AYE: ABBOTT, BOTHWELL, McCOLL, YUCAS. Motion
carried.
The first deadline for submitting special needs request
is February 22, 1980 .
Librarian requested a basic library skills test to be
given to applicants interviewed for librarian position open
April, 1980. Discussion followed.
BOTHWELL moved and ABBOTT seconded to amend qualifications
for';librarian position to read, "minimum requirements are two
years library experience plus core curriculum in library science. "
Motion resulted as follows . AYE: ABBOTT, BOTHWELL, McCOLL, YUCAS.
Motion carried.

Library Board Meeting

BOTHWELL moved and McCOLL seconded that applications for
head librarian position now being accepted and to be closed
March 12 , 1980 . Motion resulted as follows.
AYE : ABBOTT, BOTHWELL, McCOLL, YUCAS. Motion carried.
The regularly scheduled library board meeting of March
5, 1980 changed to March 12 , 1980 at which time resumes
will be reviewed. A committee will be appointed to check
references of acceptable applicants, and arrange for
interviews.
ABBOTT and BOTHWELL attended a legislator ' s luncheon,
with librarian' s and trustees from region #3, at the
Crystal Ballroom in the Hoff Building. After the luncheon,
trustees and librarians attended a meeting of the
Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee with regard to
Idaho State Library' s portion of the education budget.
Meeting adjourned at 8 :25 P. M.
