All members were present except Brad Herrick. The minutes of the August 3, 1977 meeting were approved as read. Betty Herris r.eported on the ~:ctivitieG at the VJestern Idaho Fair. She said that a lot of people ~.Tent through the booth and it v7as a fun tLlle. The booth created a lot of interest~ .and Betty Monis urged e"eryone to volunteer their time if the booth is held .again .next .yea':. Terms will end August 31 for all board ~embers when their te~m expires. Glida BothwellVg term expired this ,year. She has been r~comnlende<< to the council for a new five year term beginning September 1977. All nel\'l ternm Hill begin Sept~~ber 1 of that year. Thia was clarified :rom th2 minutes of the August 3rd meeting. The resignation of Judy Romans" was accepted She left en September 2 to take another position in Oregon.. She did not stttmd the meethlg in Spokane for PNLA. Glenda Willes was appointed fo.~ the position (f Libr~rian. Glenda will invite her to our next meeting. We will keep her in mind for future openings on the board. We also thought slle might be interested in volunteer work. September 7, 1977 Page 2 Glenda Willes is e~~olled in a.n evening class in childr.en's lite~ature at BSU. She has paid f!r the course, and the City of Eagle paid for the text book.. The price was $14.50. The ,book is called "Children and Bookau and is the 5th edition, which will replace OUT .present copy of the 4th edition. The new edition has new views on the,et:hniC.SIld soeial problems in our society today. Betty Morris &eported on the ~uly21 picnic and SIRLS meeting. Betty t!orria, Judy Romans, and GIida Bothwell attended. The next SIRLS trustees meeting will be November 10. It will be the public budget hearing.
