EAGLE LIBRARY DISTRICT - July 17, 1974

Members present: John Smidt, Betty Morris, Carol Stoddard, Mrs; Morr~s
Regans, Rowena Parks.
This was the first meeting of the newly formed Library District, and all,
turstees appointed by the City of Eagle were present. Todetermine
the length of terms for the trustees it was decided to draw lots and the
terms are as follows:
Mrs. Morris Regans
Carol Stoddard
John Smidt
Betty Morris

The trustees selected John Smidt to act as chairman and Mrs. Regans ,as
secretary.
John Smidt explained to the trustees the reason the City took over the
Library District and at the same time explained the City's hope of being
able to utilize part of the library building as the City cle~k's offi6e.
John also explained that moving the City Office to the Library woulq
enable the Library to be open more often.
There was quite a lot of d~scussion on the needs of the Library and some
of these needs are as follows:
1. A form letter for over due books
2. An accounting system to keep track of money collected
3. Professional help for the volunteers
4. Professional help in cataloging the books
5. Help in determining what books to keep for the Library
and what books to donate to other libraries
It was decided to hold the next meeting at the Library, July 31, 1974 at
7:00 p.m. Betty Morris volunteered to contact the District Librarian
and rquest her attendance at this meeting.
There being no more business the meeting was closed.
