HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes
Eagle City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane
July 12, 2017 5:30 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER: Pence calls the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Present: PENCE, DAVINA, URQUTAGA, WEDDINGTON Absent: STAFFORD,
NICKEL. A quorum is present.

A. Minutes of June 20, 2017.
Davina moves to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by Weddington. ALL
AYE...MOTION CARRIES.
Pence requests a motion to add an item to the agenda to reimburse expenses associated with Eagle Fun
Days.
Weddington moves to approve the reimbursement requests submitted by Commissioners for
personal funds expended for the booth at Eagle Fun Days. Seconded by Davina. ALL
AYE...MOTION CARRIES.
B. Discuss the Results of the Eagle Fun Day Surveys:
Jackson House
Historic District
Chairman Pence reviews the results from the survey that was distributed during while at the booth during
the Friday of Eagle Fun Days, regarding both Jackson House and the possible creation of a Historic
District — approximately 36 surveys were completed. The consensus of the Commission that it was an
excellent experience and interaction with the public. Discussion.
C. Historic District Announcement and Town Halls Scheduling.
Discussion on composing the new releases and announcements regarding the intent of the Historic
Commission to investigate the creation of a historic district and provide information and welcome public
input on the same. Urquiaga volunteers to draft language for review by the Commission, upon approval it
will be forwarded to the Communication Specialist for distribution in accordance with the City's
Communication policy. The Commission expresses the desire to work the Communication Specialist to
make the surveys available on the website possibly via Survey Monkey, as well to submit them online.
Pence would like to move forward with a direct mailer. The goal would be to move forward in August
with a Town Hall meeting, perhaps during the regular meeting of the month. Conduct the regular meeting
for the first hour and then going into a more informative and information gathering meeting/Town Hall.
Discussion.
Urquiaga moves to set a special meeting on August 2' to discuss the historic district open houses.
Seconded by Davina. ALL AYE...MOTION CARRIES.
5. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
