Civic Lane October 12, 2016 5:30 P.M. 1. CALL TO ORDER: calls the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: NICKEL, STAFFORD, PENCE, DAVINA. All present. A quorum is present. 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Nickels amends the Agenda to add under New Business Item #F, discussion on a Chairman and Vice Chairman. Commission concurs. A. July 13, 2016 Minutes Chairman introduces the issues. Stafford moves to accept the minutes of July 13, 2016 as read. Seconded by Davina. ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES ................ B. Historic Buildings Advisory Committee Update General discussion. Nickel and Davina will represent the HPC on the Historic Buildings Advisory Committee. C. Guest Speaker Discussion General discussion. Continued to the next meeting. D. General Discussion of Upcoming Events Discussion on the Harvest Festival. 4. NEW BUSINESS: A. Election of new Chairman and Vice -Chairman. General discussion. Zach Pence has expressed an interest in being the Chairman. Davina nominates Rita Stafford. Stafford declines. Davina nominates Zach Pence as the new Chairperson. Seconded by Nickel. ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES. Nickel nominates Rita Stafford as Vic -Chairman. Seconded by Davina. ALL AYES: MOTION CARRIES ......................... B. NRHP Nomination — 2062 Hill Road (Dicky Drive Barn) General discussion. Stafford: they don't want to pursue this as a historic barn. Discussion on the restrictions in the City's ordinances. The Commission will look at Eagle City Code to verify what restrictions the City has. Page 1 of 2 C. Grants, Signs, and Plaques 1. Jackson House 2. 223 N. Eagle Property 3. Fischer House General discussion. The Commission will continue researching the properties. Discussion on producing a manual on how to research property records. Nickel will have the Jackson House and the 223 N. Eagle Property wording completed by the next meeting. D. Historic Properties Mapping/GIS Solutions Update Pence provides the Commission a report. He has worked with City's GIS person. General discussion. E. Museum Curator's Report — No report City Council Liaison Soelberg discusses the progress with the Merrill Rooster, the new subdivision that was approved by the Council Tuesday night for the Williamson Ranch and the possibility of documenting this as one of the last working ranches on the Island. Discusses the Beautify Eagle Project for downtown which is being done through the Urban Renewal Agency. If you have a downtown historical project you might want to consider funding from the Urban Renewal Agency. Discusses the Eagle is Home Project. Nickel discusses the process for creating agendas and having the draft agenda sent out to all of the Commissioners for review. 5.
