HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Special Meeting Minutes
Eagle City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane
September 15, 2015 4:30 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 4:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Present: NICKEL, STAFFORD, CULTON. A quorum is present.
Nickel moves to amend the agenda under Unfinished Business item E. Idaho Heritage Conference
Discussion. Seconded Nickel. ALL AYE...MOTION CARRIES
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A. Barn windshield survey presentation: Madeline Buckendorf.
Chairman Nickel introduces Ms. Buckendorf.
Ms. Buckendorf gives an overview of the windshield survey she conducted. Forty barns were
surveyed, five (5) were identified as eligible for the national register. Discussion of barn types.
Discussion of city code or criteria that would preserve historic properties, national trends,
incentive programs and design criteria or analysis.
B. Grants, signs, and plaques:
Nothing to report at this time.
C. Quarterly Speakers Programs:
Chairman Nickel is trying to coordinate the Daughters of the Revolution, it may be in late
October before it is finalized. Culton reached out to Outdoor Idaho about reenactment actors.
Maybe a program in the park is something that could be coordinated next summer in conjunction
with the Eagle Parks and Recreation Department. Discussion.
D. Merrill Park Rooster status update: (SN)
Nothing new to report at this time.
E. Discussion of Idaho Heritage Conference.
Discussion regarding travel arrangements for members to attend.
4. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Minutes of August 12, 2015
Culton moves to approve. Seconded by Stafford. ALL AYE...MOTION CARRIES.
5. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business the meeting is adjourned. Stafford moves to
adjourn. The motion was seconded by Culton. ALL AYE. MOTION CARRIES.
