Minutes - 2014 - Historic Preservation Commission - 09/09/2014 - RegularEAGLE PRESERVATIONM COMMISSION
MINUTES, SEPTEMBER 9, 2014
Meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.
THOSE ATTENDING: Nickel, Kelch, Stafford, Olson, Bearden
Mike Olson was introduced as a new member. He's lived in the Boise area for 1.5 years,
moved here from Seattle. He's a photographer and offered his services if we need photos.
GRANT APPLICATION: Pam Kelch spoke a little on the subject of the Beal House and
signage in Diane's absence. We'll discuss it further next month. Also the Fisher -Cohen
home will be discussed. We need signage guidance. Laurie Baker's pictures of the Beal
house are missing from the library. SHPO requires that pictures of our nominations
be turned in by the end of September. Can Mike Olson be available for this? Does Alana
know anything about the missing pictures?
MINUTES FROM JUNE: (OUR LAST MEETING) will be approved next month when
there are more members of the commission present.
QUARTERLY SPEAKER: Should we have another speaker in November? Perhaps
the week before Thanksgiving? Pam will speak to Alana at the Museum about searching
for information on the Eagle Fire Department and its history, and some background information
on Chiefs Winkle and Dunne. Would we consider offering a drawing with the winner getting to
have a "fire house meal" with the firemen?
NEW BUSINESS: The Rooster was briefly discussed but Diane will need to fill us in next
month.
SHPO is having a conference in Rexburg for 3 days. It will cost $400 per person. Can we use
the budget for that expense? We should commit for at least two members to attend.
Should we nominate the Fry home and/or the Homer home for nomination to be registered?
Pam said she'd do some research on them.
Move to adjourn made by Mike Olson, seconded by Pam Kelch at 5:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted:
