Minutes February 12, 2014
Roll Call: Thomason, Scott, Stafford, Nickel, Bearden present. Ketch and Fallow absent.
Council member Mark Butler was also present.
Unfinished Business:
Grant Applications update: Scott reported that she sent RFP's to three people to do the
National Historical nomination on the Beacon Light property. One person declined due to
conflict in schedules.The other two were miles apart in cost estimates.After discussion it was
decided to award Madeline Buckendorf the job. She had done the other nomination for the
Fisher property and her price was within reason.
Speakers Program: Nickel gave an update on the progress of showing the movie"Bronco
Billy"which was filmed in our area.The entire commission is excited about this project.
Nickel reported that he had permission to show the movie in chambers, adding that we
should have popcorn available for the showing. Discussion was had about contacting the
actor Clint Eastwood to see if he would consider being here.
Rooster Project: Shawn Nickel reported that he had been in contact with Wright Bros about
taking on the project and he felt that it might be a go but he would have to check back.
